Here are some of the most commonly asked
questions
| Q
- How is Bore - Pro different from other cleaners
available today? |
| A- Bore - Pro is a complete long lasting
treatment. In one easy step, it provides a bright clean bore and
quickly removes lead, copper, plastic or "molly" fouling, leaving a
surface sealed, at the microscopic level, against further fouling,
corrosion and wear. |
| |
| Q -Can Bore - Pro harm my
guns? |
| A- No, with the exception of fine
wood finishes, Bore - Pro is completely harmless to all
materials found in most firearms. Unlike harsh cleaners Bore -
Pro does not dissolve
fouling, it breaks the bonds that holds those materials into the
microscopic surfaces of the gun's bore. |
| |
| Q
- Is Bore - Pro difficult to use? |
| A -No, it is almost impossible to make a
mistake in using this product. The cleaning and surface conditioning
action begins immediately as Bore - Pro comes into
contact with any metal on the firearm being treated, no matter how
it is applied. |
| |
| Q -
Do I need to thoroughly clean my barrel before using
Bore-Pro? |
| A - No, Bore-Pro is a complete cleaner and treatment combination. If
your bore is heavily fouled, you can use a brush to speed the
cleaning action before the first and (in extreme cases) second
application. For most firearms, a brush is rarely needed after the
initial treatment. |
| |
| Q
- How often should I use Bore - Pro ? |
| A
- Bullet type and velocity are the greatest factors in
determining frequency of use. If you are shooting very soft lead
bullets or jacketed bullets at velocities over 3500 f.p.s.
Bore-Pro should be used more often. For example, a .22, (rim
fire) fired over 500 rounds with no visible fouling left in the bore
after the test. On the other end of the scale is a wild cat caliber,
sometimes known as a "squirt gun". Our test gun was a Thompson
Contender with a 14" barrel built by master gunsmith David Van Horn
in Phoenix AZ. A "squirt gun" barrel has a .17caliber bore, but is
chambered for a .22 long rifle cartridge. When fired, the bullet is
forced through the bore at very high velocity by the
extreme pressures resulting from this design. As you can imagine,
fouling was a severe problem. After trying several of the top
cleaners, we found that Bore-Pro was the only product that allowed more than a
few rounds to be fired before a thorough cleaning was necessary.
|
| |
| Q -
How does Bore - Pro increase
accuracy? |
| A
- Bore-Pro conditions the bore,
providing a very smooth, uniform and low friction surface to guide
the bullet as it travels down the barrel. This minimizes shot to
shot velocity variation and increases accuracy. |
| |
| Q
- Does Bore - Pro protect parts of
the gun other than the barrel? |
| A -
Yes. The carrier used in Bore-Pro can spread the wear and
corrosion resisting ingredients through the trigger group, bolt and
other parts of the operating system. Also, you can wipe Bore-Pro on
the external metal parts, for added rust protection.
|
| |
| Q
- Does Bore - Pro have any other
uses? |
| A
- Yes. It can be used as a
resizing lube (single stage operations only) providing excellent
service life for even the most difficult to resize brass. Also, you
can use it on all types of precision metal tools and equipment for
excellent wear and corrosion
protection. |
